Five days later, I'm almost halfway across the country. Not exactly "Cannonball Run" material, but real record-breaking stuff for this nomad.
Some pretty nice campsites the first few nights...
But now that I'm well east of the Rockies, that's probably going to change for the worse. The eastern half of this land does have its merits, but vast stretches of pristine wilderness is not one of them.
The wind has been brutal since LA, but after five days of holding the steering wheel at about a 20 degree turn, the hightop remains firmly attached to the van. I'd be lying if I said I haven't reached up a few times to make sure. Truly amazing things they're doing with glue these days.
