to simplify     notes from the open road

A project of this scope is inevitably going to have a stretch like this past week – a day or two of slacking after having reached a milestone (getting the top glued to the van), a rainy day or two to provide a good excuse for still more slacking, then a couple of days getting work done (the kind I get paid for, not van work), and then when you're finally ready to dive back into it, you realize there are parts and supplies to be ordered before you can proceed.

Things are quickly ramping up once again, however. You may recall that I was accidentally given two windows for the same side of the van when I picked up the hightop way back when, but the correct replacement finally arrived today. After lots of careful measuring this afternoon, I made what should be the last nerve-wracking cut I'll ever need to make to either the van's body or the hightop.

It's all downhill from here.
