A couple of days ago, I was helping Q put together a new toolbox he had picked up for a song at the venerable Harbor Freight, and it hit me – a guy could live out of this thing!
Maybe put some hipper wheels on it for off-roading...a beach umbrella strapped to the side for protection from the elements. Go ahead and laugh, but it would blow away a shopping cart.
Except for this one.

OK Glenn.
ReplyDeleteSo you are barely started on your newest downsize, and are now looking into living in a tool box.
I think if this is your ultimate goal, you should at least purchase a top of the line tool box with ultra-glide tool shelves, or clothes shelves in your case.
And get one in a bright color so you can have the 'bling' effect and be the envy of all.
Best..............Rob
Oh boy, you are tilting a little far over the edge!
ReplyDeleteI once designed a guest house for a guy using all Craftsman tool boxes for the cabinets...it was pretty darn cool.
ReplyDeleteGlenn, I had to chuckle. Since living in my RoadTrek for almost two years now, I catch myself looking at every old bus, rolling bread truck or some other oversize vehicle and wondering if it could be converted into a home on wheels. Is this some form of a mental illness? I don't know, but if I graduate to mentally moving into a tool box I think I will have to 'take the cure' and call it quits. Oops--a garbage truck just drove by!
ReplyDeleteWhat....no use of bed liner????????
ReplyDeleteHi Glenn,
ReplyDeleteHere's a way to power the toolbox, or a toad for the camel!

That shopping cart camper is hilarious, yet I can't help but be jealous I don't have one.
ReplyDeleteThere may be an intervention in your near future.
ReplyDeleteDeep breath... gently put the tools down... play some music.

ReplyDeleteBut where's the beer cooler? Hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteToo funny

and I read that post.
Then I went to the beginning and read every post and comment with great interest; insert Star here. I love what you are doing even though it is to late for me to emulate your life; being at least 3 decades older than you are.
Since your approach to health seems to be one of mainly prevention; I wonder if you have considered this technique which is supposed to prevent almost all problems with the GI tract. (Including appendicitis).

It is easy to implement when one is building a custom interior in the RV.
Very interesting the modifications you are doing to the Vanagon.
Keep the pictures coming, please.
